WELCOME TO THE US-SIBERIA LINK GLOBAL WARMING PROJECT!
Dear Students from Yakutsk and Dallas,
Environmental issues have become a common point of interest at all levels of societies around the world. Although individuals in different areas of the globe are affected differently, they all are touched in some way by their shared environment. Scientists, although sharply divided in their views in the past, seem to be more united in expressing concern about issues such as global warming. Similarly, governments have tended to focus more on economic and social issues, relegating environmental issues to future discussions, but these issues have now come to the forefront of political debates.
The rather recent concern about the environment has been fueled by individuals such as former US Vice President Albert Gore, who received a Nobel Prize for his work in educating individuals and organizations. On a grassroots level, we all raise questions about apparent changes in weather and about the possible effects of running households, businesses, and nations in a petroleum-free world, a prospect that has not until recently been considered seriously.
During the next several weeks, you and your instructors will read about crucial environmental issues which affect all of us. As indicated in the title of this project, our work will entail global collaboration, as two classes from different parts of the world will read the article about Global Warming to share ideas, work together to understand some rather complex issues, and discuss the issues.
We look forward to working together to explore environmental issues that have an impact on all of us. We hope that this project will be an exciting, educational, and rewarding adventure for all of us.

Check the various documents listed there, especially the schedule.. We, your instructors, will guide you through the next several weeks of work. I can’t image the average temperature of Dallas will be higher than 100ºF the next
50 years. It means that our generation must to suffer the changing temperature years
after year. Most living things in the world may be died or forced to leave their homes. According to this article, there are so many studies on this issue and some people are probing into the cause of warming. But we have to sit down and deeply think the initial starter is human being. Be a member of the earth, we can’t free our duty. To protect our home and reduce the warming problem, we have to take some action to reduce carbon emission immediately from our surroundings. Then, promote it to your friends, family, and community. How to do? My opinion is to reduce the consumption of “air condition” and stop the usage of plastic bags. In summer, most Americans turn on their air condition over 20 hours. The electric power is generated by burning the fire. The procedure of burning will emit the carbon and destroy the
atmosphere. The other bad thing is “overuse the plastic bag”. In my country Taiwan, we have the law to prohibit the overuse of plastic bag. But in the U.S.,
you will get a lot. of plastic bags after shopping. Some people may say it is a small
thing. But I don’t think so. If we don’t care it, a small thing will grow up to
the big thing.

Hi: I read the article and I'm agree that the greenhouses gas have a huge contribution af the Global Warming but all the plastic bags, the empty cans, botlles, cars in bad conditions and all the pollution make bigger the problem. All we need to take action in this problem, but many people don't care to recycle items or do a little bet. Here on summer the weather is very hot, in few minutes the sun burn the skin very easy, my relatives from Michigan just like to come on March or April because they can't stand it, it is super hot. What do you think about this article people?
